Founder

Wayne and his wife, Wyn, come from the farming town of Pangman, SK. Wayne’s history includes grain farming, as well as the distinction of being one of the first people to import exotic cattle breeds to Saskatchewan from Europe in the 1970’s. He ran a purebred Charolais ranch in the 60’s and 70’s, and worked with the American Breeder Services.

Wayne had interest and saw the value in the grain temperature monitoring business in the early 80’s when he was approached by OPI Systems. Due to Wayne’s keen sense of what was ‘next’ for the ag sector, and his extensive network of contacts with agri-producers across Western Canada, he was able to help grow his business.

From there, Wayne moved to Red Deer in 1994, and later he, along with Kevin & Jacky, created Clews Storage Management in 1997. Together, they have created Western Canada’s preferred supplier of grain temperature and moisture monitoring cables and wireless systems.

Owners

Kevin and Jacky originally met at the Caronport High School in Caronport, SK, in 1985. Kevin was originally from Pangman, SK and Jacky from Seven Persons, AB, and both from farming families. They were married in 1987 and moved to Ontario, and later Calgary, with Kevin working as an insurance broker.

They moved to Red Deer in 1997 to work with Wayne and created Clews Storage Management, starting out with an office and shipping department in the garage at Wayne’s acreage.

Today, they travel across Western Canada in the summer to perform installations of the BinSense Wireless Monitoring system, and their winters are spent at trade shows and meeting with customers, and planning for the upcoming install season.

Bookkeeper

Daughter to Wayne & Wyn, and Kevin’s Sister, Lorie has been the bookkeeper and receptionist for over 30 years as the first point of contact our customers have when calling our office.

Shop Manager

David has known Kevin and Jacky for many years, from when he previously was the choice Service Technician for Clews Management at Allan Dale Industries in Red Deer. He later moved upwards to become the manager of the service department, as well as some time in sales, and his decades of experience in trailer repair has been a massive benefit to keep the motorhomes and trailers that the crews use for installs on the road.

He spent several years as the lead of an installation crew before moving to become the Shop Manager in 2023, and in charge of the Shipping/Receiving, as well as vehicle maintenance of our entire fleet.

Sales and Dealer Relations Manager

Danny is a close friend of Kevin and Jacky’s, and his previous experience working as an Appliance Serviceman and Electronics Technician, and later as a manager of the Calgary and Southern Alberta service region for The Brick, as well as the Production Manager at the local Fix Auto Body Shop is an asset in the Sales and Service Department at Clews Management.

He has been the main contact for dealers and retail customers in our organization since 2017.

Shop Hand

Stacey is the longest tenured employee at Clews Management, having worked with Wayne from before the company was officially incorporated in 1997. He lived near Wayne just outside of Red Deer and has worked closely with helping maintain the shop, and packing and shipping orders since 1994.

Customer Service, Sales & Installation

Mackenzie is Kevin & Jacky’s oldest son. After graduating high school in 2013, Mack began his apprenticeship as an electrician doing mainly commercial and oilfield work. He got his Red Seal Electrician ticket in 2016, and continued working for several years in the trade before coming to work at Clews Management full-time in 2021.

He has taken on duties as the social media manager, working at trade shows and engaging with customers, as well as being the lead of his own installation crew in 2023, with Dave moving to the role of Shop Manager.

Sales & Installation

The youngest son of Kevin & Jacky, and Mackenzie’s younger brother, Austin graduated in 2015 and followed a similar path as Mackenzie. He began his career as an electrician while also working with Clews Management on a crew with Dave in the summers during the busiest season for us.

He also got his Red Seal Electrician Journeyman ticket in 2022, and has become a full-time member here, working on a crew with Kevin and Jacky, as well as taking a role in working at trade shows and interacting with customers.

Installation

Landon has gained some great experience as a farm hand, working for several years with some of Kevin & Jacky’s closest friends. His experience on the farm and with driving large equipment as a long-haul heavy trucker make him an important asset for the installation work that Clews Management performs across Western Canada.

He joined the team in 2023, and works on a crew with Mackenzie.Description goes here
